Limit slider min and max values when working with a data field

Hi,

I'm currently working on sliders where the values shall represent months. As this seems to be complicated using variables (when moving the sliders, the variable is calculated and displayed as numeric, daily values), I chose to use a month field as data instead.

Question is now, if there is a way to limit the values that can be selected. E.g. I have values for a whole year, but only want to show the last three months on the slider.

My goal is now to have two sliders with three months each, from Jan 2014 to Mar 2014.
