List Box search / selection for many selections

This was a question I was asked recently and could not answer

I have always made more than one selection by holding down ctrl and clicking the appropriate items as required

The problem is when there are a large number of items

For example 30,000 invoices and invoice numbers 19459 16789 and 20825 etc need to be selected

Is there any way to just type these number in to select them

Something like

19459,16789,20825  etc

I sure there is but I can not see how

Have you tried just entering the values in the list box search bar (i.e. the bar that appear if you activate the list box and start typing) with a space between them?

19459 16789 20825

Another alternative should be something like

(19459|16789|20825)

Thanks swuehl. I never even thought of just trying a space

The other solution also works. Although the | took me a time to do (I finally used shift backspace)

But thanks to both you and dakohler. I was almost certain it could be done
