Load excel data placed in a public folder through a link
Hi All,
I have to load excel data , which are placed in a public folder , and a link to folder has been provided.
Please guide me how should i do that.

Edit Script --> Table Files --> Open Local files Dialog -- Here paste your Public folder path and select Excel file from it

Please use complete UNC path.

when I select the "XLS" format from File wizard window- it throws an error
" cannot read BIFF file"

Maybe its not really a BIFF file. It could be a csv file named as xls . Just try to open the file in Excel, Save it in a different name and try

yes...they are the excels . I have been working with them previously when they were in my D drive.
I also tried using XLSX format , its showing BAD ZIP FILE.

May be files are corrupted.
Try by copying the same file to local server to make sure they are not corrupted

Cant really think as to why you might be getting the error.
Can you download a fresh copy of the file and try again ? and hope there are no restriction set on the files.
How are these excel files generated?

Got the solution.
Actually Qlikview needed the SSO login prior to llogin .
I entered the URL in File<open URL.
and tried to reload again.
It worked.
