It is possible by creating a new ODBC connection, using "Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls, *.xlsx, *.xlsm, *.xlsb)", to the file. Then using that ODBC-connection in QlikView.

Hi Kaushik,

How do you handle if Excel drivers not installed ? Normally in production architecture Office will not be available in server ?

Maybe you could outsource this job to another machine/system whereby why not installing office/excel or at least the database-driver (I could imagine that they are independently available)?

Of course I have heard statements from the IT guys that "a server is a server and no office belonged to them" but in my opnion it's not very responsible and cooperative - it's just a normal business requirement and from a security point of view no special risk especially compared with normal challenges to secure the environment.
