Lock an Object to X or Y Axis?

I'm aware of the option to deselect "Allow Move/Size," but is there an option that I can lock an object to an X-pos or Y-pos value so that when I go to position the object I can only move it along the Y or X axes, respectively?

that is interesting...i'm not sure that is possible...however, you may already know this but if you select an object and hold down ctrl and use your arrow keys you can move an object along x or y positions in non web view.

you are welcome! another way is going into the properties and modifying the coordinates manually leaving one position constant. this you probably already figured out by now though
