Hello,
When I first open the Qlikview document, and press ctrl+e it starts loading, like 5-10 seconds till it opens the script editor.
When I reload and open script editor again, it is much faster.
When I use many Qlikview documents, this delay starts to be quite an nuisance.
Can someone help me troubleshoot this?
Thank you.
I have also seen a similar issue after updating from QV11.2 to QlikView 12.... Opening script has drastically slow down, but I have gotten used to it. Don't know what is causing it, but it def. take few seconds after opening a new qv tab to open the script, the subsequently it opens quick.
Do you have a lot of script function (call sample_function etc.) or VBA macros used in script? please check your hidden script and included files to be 100% sure.

This happens with new QVW document, with no script.
It happens in QV11.20 as well. In most cases, the excessive delay when first opening the Script Editor in a particular document is caused by the different installed Connectors initializing. Some may even start to spew error messages (older ones that don't work reliably anymore) but only the connector will/may crash, not the script editor.
Not sure what you can do about that, except uninstalling Connectors
Likewise. I just learned to live with it..
When you say connectors, is that something which comes with the QlikView installation file (essentially built into the program)? Cause I don't think I have installed anything new with my QV12?
Well, occasionally and in certain QlikView environments I have quite a lot of Connectors installed. Both default connectors and optional connectors that I either installed using an installer, or just by copying them in a specific location. The delays in QV11.20 only become annoying when using more connectors that the default set.
I thought it was the same in QV12, but your experience seems to negate this.
And also this: Bug QV-10133: QlikView 12.10 SR3 Script Editor opens very slow. Was fast in QV11.20
The phenomenon has been assigned a Bug ID in March of this year. Not sure if it features high on the Qlik bugfix priority list...
From the release notes, I can deduct that bug 10133 has not been fixed yet in any later 12.10 release. 12.20 release notes don't contain any details about fixes. We'll have to be patient, I guess...
Yup patience is probably what is needed here, besides I have gotten used to it now
