Dear Folks ...
Actually i'm trying to implement alert in qmc when a document reload fails or service down
went through some blogs where it is mentioned to check with the alert option in QVS after SMTP mail server setup done,
but not found option like alert after doing this .
The server is publisher licensed.
Mail address is proper and checked with send test mail which was worked fine
Here I'm sharing the screen
Can any one let me know how to setup alerts in QMC
Able to find alerts E-Mail tab in QDS
I'm checking the alert mail by manually execution and interrupt the task
I guess the test email always works, right?
If so, you need to specify in the QDS your email address: QMC > System > Setup > Distribution Services > Alert E-mail
If not, then you need to ask IT for the right setup for the mail server.
Yes exactly as you told the things are
Can you explain in detail about the point mentioned as to ask IT department for the right setup for the mail server
So if the "test email" works and the "alert email to system administrators" doesn't, I will check with Qlik Support. Both alerts use the same mail server, if it works for one, works for the other, unless perhaps, you are using custom templates in the QMC setup that could have a wrong format or tag and that's what is making it fail.
You can also try to set the same email address as "override e-mail", and see if that works.
I will check with this.
I need one more clarification about this alert
Only alert mail will be received in case of document reload failure or both reload and services down
If we successfully able to implement this mail alert
For services down, you will need a third party software checking on the background whether the services are running and with the capability to alert by emails. This is not set up in the QMC.
Tried checking with the over ride email as suggested by you,
Manually executed the task and interrupted it but not received any alert mail.
Because no option available to check with like send test mail so executed a sample task.
This is OK, when I forcefully stop a task in the QMC, I get an email warning that the task finished unexpectedly (or failed) to the address specified in the Distribution Services.
