Making a pie chart preserve a dimension?

Hello all,

I have a pie chart that has dimension A. A is part of hierarch A-> B. When I click on a member of A in the pie chart, I'd like to have the A slices preserved, so that member 1 of Dim A is selected for the rest of the document, but the Pie still has all members of A displayed. This is pretty easy using set analysis. However, I'd like to be able preserve Dim A as the pie chart, but be able to select one or many months for the document and have the chart reflect the selected months, and all Values of Dim A, even when a member of Dim A is selected.

right click on chart and select chart properties.

in the general tab check the box "Detached" (just below title)

That doesn't allow me to select a member from Dim A.

Hi Jerry, can you load the chart / document. I had a similar query and solved it this way. I suspect that there is a property in the chart set / unset that is preventing this solution from working.
