Modify default symbol for when value is too wide for column width

The default symbol for column width is a pound sign (#).

Is there any way to change this symbol to another?

I think not, but if you convert it to a Text you get a String with ... at the end of Cell.

Don't really understand your question, would you be able to elaborate or give an example.

This is my understanding of his question. First column is a number second a text. He will change the # sign as symbol that the value is to long on this cell.

Jonas understnds the question, but it sounds like the answer is no. I am storing dates there (at times) although most of the time it is a Y/N. I was hoping to change symbol to some calendar symbol and when they mouse over they can see the date.
