Multiple Fact Tables Sharing Multiple Dimension Tables?

What are some ways some of you may have dealt with the issue of multiple fact tables sharing  two or more dimension tables?  I know that circular reference is an issue in QV, but why and what exactly does it affect and to what extent?  It seems as though multiple fact tables sharing dimension tables is fairly standard in the industry so it's confusing why something like that causes an issue in QV.  I don't have an example to post so I apologize if this is a bit vague but I would just like to gain some input from folks who may have ran into this in the past.  Thanks in advance!!
