Multiple States Vs. Multiple List box filters

I am relatively new to Qlikview and am struggling with a particular issue.

I have a combination chart that has 2 expressions, 1 counts values in the default state, the other in 'State1'.

I then have 3 more list boxes that I want to use to filter my data, however the listboxes can only be attributed to 1 state.

How do I get the listboxes to filter both states at once?

Example Listboxes:

Listbox 1: Domicile

Listbox 2: Gender

Listbox 3: Age

Example chart:

Count of Records by Month: Default State - Current year, State 1 - Previous Year

Don't try. Leave the listboxes in the default state and change your 'State1' expression to use the selections of the default state for those three fields:

Sum({State1<Domicile=$::Domicile, Gender=$::Gender, Age=$::Age>} Value)
