Named User License

Hello,

I have developed nice tool with personal edition and when I show that to other people they were interested to use it. Of course, personal edition does not allow other users to open file so we decided to buy some kind of licence that matches our need. I belive that Named User Licence is good enough but I have some questions about it:

* is it one time cost (1350 USD per user) or is it periodically cost?

* can user create as many files as he wants and other named users can open them (like sharing some office files)?

* is licence connected to user name or computer (in case that user change  computer, can he take licence with him)?

* if some user leave company can other user take his license?

* is there a minimal number of licences to buy?

* what if we buy 10 licenses and that want to add 3 more. Is it package or per one license?

* can users with personal edition open files created by named user in read only mode?

*QlikTechs standard cost of a Named cal (client access licence) is 1350 USD
with 20% per Annum maintenance (covers upgrades etc). QlikView Pricing |

*A named licence lets the holder create as many document as they want just
like in the unlicensed personal edition, however with a named licence they can
now open document created by others (not personal).

*You can change the user / machine a licence is assigned to.

*QlikTech may offer cheaper deals if you buy in bulk but in general its buy
one, get one, for the price of one, multiplied by however many you need small scale.

*Personal edition users can only open documents they have created themselves.

Hi Philip,

Is there any concept like developer license, I didn't server installed, without server which license I can use?  Is Developer License exists for the Qlikview Desktop i heard in some blog.

You would need a Local Client. (same price/functionalities as a named user only local capabilities)

What is the cost of server which can be hosted amazon ec2 instance?

Is it like : Purchase 5 Named CAL($1340*5) + server cost?

Hi Deepish,

Price list is no longer availble publicly, so please enage with your Qlik Partner Manager so he or she can help you in your actual needs or your customer needs.

Note that AWS is not a Qlik services, so any charges for that part would not be related in any way to licensing costs.

Hi Deepish,

You can look into license lease.  I just youtubed it but sure there is something on the community on sharing your named account.

You would use the qmc of the Qlik server to manage the named accounts.  Our purchase was the server and named accounts and works for us but quickly seeing the need to expand.
