Try creating two charts one with ID field and other without.

Hide the chart with the ID column.

Create a button to send to excel from this chart (hidden).

So you want to hide the ID column in QV, but when the user exports to Excel, ID should be exported too?

I'm not sure this is straight forward. You might consider a toggle button that switches between an "export-ready" chart and the "normal" chart. Button will toggle a variable to show/hide a chart with ID shown or not and Export button enabled.

It's a workaround but may suffice?

Hide.png

You can hide the column as shown above in the image.

Click on your ID dimension> Enable Condition>if(ID=1,1,0)

And to export to XL, if you hide the column then you cannot export that column to XL. You'll need a Button to do that.

Export to XL.png

You can customize the button and place it on chart, uncheck the XL from Caption tab in properties and replace that with this button. (As mentioned by jason.michaelides)

Users will have a full data XL file and it will save on the location you want.

Note: It will be saved as .csv file, not .xml.

Thanks.

This Cannot be achieved. if you hide the column and export the data, you cannot get the hidden column in your excel.

you have to remove your condition.
