Hello Experts...
Appreciate your time in Advance.
I have been browsing through this forum but still have questions as follows...
First let me explain my experience first I have started as client server developer with VB front end and backend Oracle development and since then shifted to crystal reports development with heavy oracle sql querying (creating tables, views, stored procedure and functions) and now I am trying to get into Qlikview development, so far I was able to put the SQL queries in scripting load and creating some QVW with pivot and straight table chart objects with selection options and period over period expressions. Trying to see how to learn scripting, please advise me in where to start? Any documentation or some tutorials perhaps or examples will be good.
Thank you,
Pad

I would highly suggest that book. It can be used by beginners or more advanced users to learn the design and development aspects of qlikview. It has step by step guides and examples to help you learn. I bought it and have learned a ton from it.
Hi Pad,
You might also like to take a look at the examples installed with Qlikview. You should be able to find them in
C:\Program Files\QlikView\Examples
You can also download tutorials and documentation from the Qlikview download site - http://download.qlik.com/
Just navigate to the Desktop tab, select the appropriate version of qlikview, and then filter for "Documentation and Tutorial" in the "File Function" field.

Graeme
We are using Qlikview 9.00 and not sure when will be upgrading but would it make a big difference following book for 11?
Thank you,
Pad
Hi Pad,
While I would highly recommend using QlikView 11 with this book, you should also get plenty of value from it when using QlikView 9.
In terms of scripting, expressions and data modeling, besides syntax checks and better performance, not that much has changed between QV9 and QV11. Most of that content should be immediately useful.
In terms of interface design, there are some differences and additions. In some cases you'll have to search around in the interface for a bit, in other cases the option will not be available in QV9.
Kind regards,
Barry
