New to qlikview

Hi,

Is it possible to open qvw file downloaded from the qlik community site ? I am getting message that app is created by the another user and cann't be open in my installed free version of qlikview app.

You can only open it if you have a license. Else with the personal edition of QlikView you get to open only 5 qvw (not created by you), after which you cannot open anymore.

I have free personal edition of Qlikview, which i downloaded yesterday. But still I can't open qvw app (downloaded from the qlik community site). Its says that app is created by the another personal edition user not by you.

It is created by another user, not you. That is true.

In the free install you can only open your own created files and those that Qlik has given an embedded license. For everything else you need a license.

The recovery attempts that Sunny T is referring too are for just that: Recovering your own work if you had a crash or had to re-install the free version on a new PC and want to open your own work. Limited to 4 attempts.

It is not possible to open others QVWs in u r free edition.

u can see the qvw 's which are available in Start page/ Help -> Show Start Page -> Examples are available
