Newbie Question on Saving to a Server

Hi,

New to all of this, so please be patient with me!

I've written quite a few app on my desktop, but I'd now like to save them to the server. Do I have to have special permissions to do this? I can see the server, and open reports from there, but how do I save something to it?

Thank you!

Di

Diane,

You can save application on server but for that you should have server admin rights.

Thanks,

You need to copy your files to a folder which is mounted (which is read by the server). If you can already see reports, try copying your apps to the same location.

Now, depending on how strictly controlled your QV environment is, you might need to ask the QlikView administrator to deploy your app & give you and everyone else the respective permissions to view it on the server.

As Martin Mahler says, you will need to copy the qvw file to a mounted folder on the server.

Once the file is on the server, you should configure a reload schedule so the data is kept up-to-date, and configure any Categories, and security/user permissions.

You should liaise with your QlikView Administrators to do this.
