No numeric values on x-axis

I have a bar chart, that has on x-axis text-values as dimension.

The chart does not show data , message says 'No numeric values in x-axis'

When changing the chart to a pivot table, values are displayed correctly.

What do I miss.

Did you turn on the 'Continuous x-axis' on the Axis tab within properties? This functionality expects you have numeric values.

Hello @curiousfellow could you kindly please share screenshots? It is not clear to me about the behavior you are experiencing? Thanks 😊

For privacy reasons it is not possible to share meaningfull screenshots. Icopied my  chart (straight table but pivot table as wel)) to a bar chart. So dimensions and expression are the same. The dimension is a string and there is only one expression. Dimension and expression values are not in the same table

I am afraid that it has to do something with the way my tables are linked.

That did the trick. Is that enabled by default ? I can not remember I did enable it or it must have been by mistake. I even do not know what it's purpose  (but will investigate :))

Thank you very much.

Glad this works for you. It is not enabled by default, so it was a mistake I guess. 😉
