Null Values appear in Chart for Fields from same column in the database

I have a requirement in which a particular column in the database is interpretted differently in different graphs in the application. I have created a set of fields(which will be my dimensions in the graphs) in Qlikview, each of which has a subset(or a combination of some values in the column) of this original column. The problem is, when I join all these fields to the fact table, it creates a set of null values for dimension, with sum(fact_metric). The user would like to see all values for the dimension, even when the sum is zero. This results in a null value for the field,when all values are null for a particular selection/date etc. How do I get rid of this etra null field?

I have attached a sample application. I want to know how to show values A, B, C for Feb in Chart 1, with 0s in the bar, and still not show '-' which totals to 34. I dont want to split the fact table into 2, one for each of the dimensions, Is there any other way to do it?

Uncheck the option the option Suppress Zero-Values on the Presentation tab and check the option Suppress When Value Is Null for dimension FieldA on the Dimensions tab.

Hi Phaneendra, Your option results in a scale ranging from 0- 1e^-5 and

then showing 0s. Although this kind of works, the scale and the height of

the zero bar is misleading and client doesn't want to see it.

Hi Gwassenaar, The check boxes you mentioned have already been set to the

same in my attached sample. I want to not see the empty '-' value for Feb

in the attached sample.

No they are not. I just redownloaded and opened your Test.qvw document. The options I mentioned are not set as I recommended.

Hi Gysbert

Thank you again, I had not verified in my test copy. Your solution works

for the test.qvw I sent you. However, the same options did not work for me

when I tested it on my actual application. I think it doesnt work when we

use a straight table/pivot table instead of line chart. Also, I am using

version 11 and the example test.qvw I sent was in QV10.

I am unable to replicate the exact issue with this over simplified inline

load statement. I am unsure where I am going wrong, as the key fields I

have created in test.qvw(when seen using table object mimics the actual

data structure)
