OBDC Issue, when trying to connect to mysql

I'm trying to connect to my MYSQL database through ODBC, but when I try to connect - I get this message

When I close the message - Im still directed to the select window, but Im not able to see any other info that the tables in the database:

Can somebody help me - I have tried on XP and Windows 7 and it's the same issue?

I uninstalled the 5.1.11 and installed 5.1.09 - but I have a problem.

I am not able to choose this driver under windows control panel ?

I tried reinstalling the 5.1.11 and it comes right up, so I don't understand how to solve this (im on windows 7)

Looks like you installed 5.0.9 from your screenshot.

5.1.9 works flawlessly in Win 7 for me.
