OCX control - controlling embedded object from .qvw?

Hi all,

When you embed an object can you control it from the Qlikview application? 

Or does it have to be controlled via the powerpoint?  it seems when I make a selection in my qvw, the changes are not reflected in the ppt?

If anyone has more info it would be much appreciated.
