ODBC in Publisher

Hi All,

I have been doing reload in my local machine so far.  I moved my QVW to source documents in Publisher and scheduled a task for reload.  But it failed, guess it should be database connectivity problem.  Any idea on that would be appreciated.

Thanks

What did the qvw log identify as the error?

Did you review the Distribution Server logs  (.\QlikTech\Publisher\Qlikview Distribution Service\1\Log\20111121\)?

Good luck,

It says the source document was not reloaded successfully.  And the document path, c:ProgramData\QliKTech\SourceDocument\file name

Reload failed.

I'm referring to the text file that is created to log the reload process.  If you haven't already, set the following setting in you QVW file  Settings menu > Document Properties > General tab > Generate Log File checkbox.

Then reload the file.  It will create a .log file in the same directory as the QVW file.

Also, look at the path I sent you, go to using Windows explorer and look for a folder with the name of you document.  This will have both the reload log file and the distribution log info.

You can't easily tell from the QEMC what the problem is, just that a problem occurred.

Good luck,

sure.  let me try that.  In the mean time, does the QVW has to be in source documents or in user documents to schedule a reload task?  Right now am placingt the document in source document and scheduling the task

The document needs to be in the folder that you configured in QEMC > System > Setup > Distribution Services > QDS@ServerName > General > Source Folders > Path >.

If the QVW doesn't exist there, you would not be able to schedule a task through the QEMC under the Documents > Source Documents tab.

Great.  Let me look into that.  Thanks for the valuable info.  Will update you on that.
