Open File from Main file and save settings

I have QVW and it has link to another qvw. There are more than one links but just to keep it simple, When User Opens Main.qvw and click on button which open Faisal.qvw, next time when user clicks on Main.qvw, I would like to open Faisal.qvw instead to again main.

[I think we could save some bookmark with user sepcific name like BM&OSUSER() etc,, but I would like if someone could help me here to implement this as first time i need to save a bookmark and next time i need to open a bookmark but if there is other way please guide me or how tihs could be done]

Hi Faisal

I guess you need to "remember" the last opened document.

In order to "remember" such value you cannot use a variable, so I suggest to use "Dynamic Update" - just save a record with last opened document in a table

quick explanation about dynamic update:

Have you explored using the "OnOpen" macro in Main.qvw? It could run a macro which could be set by the user. Not sure of the actual implementation, but it might be worth trying. You would need to dynamically pass the users' bookmark or whatever the link is to the faisal.qvw app.

Hi Yaniv,

So I should have internal table and that table could be written to a QVD and i could read from that qvd and check which qvw i am suppose to open when user click on Main.qvw?
