Hi everyone,
I have a dashboard with a text object that has an Open URL action. We're in the process of updating to May 2021 SR1, and when this dashboard is accessed through the upgraded system, this property no longer works. There's no error. It just does nothing. Has any experienced this issue?
Thanks,
Scott
Hello @lgtsotrsdh ,
The first suggestion I would made in this scenario is if this could be related to this security enhancement.

I tried the resolution mentioned in this article and now the accesspoint doesn't work at all in Edge. All I get is a big square.
Hello @lgtsotrsdh ,
Thanks for coming back on this.
You mentioned that afterwards the Access Point does not work in Edge, and we can have a look at this. Have you tried other browsers like Chrome or tested only on the QlikView Desktop? If yes, what was the outcome there.
Cheers!
Also kindly notice that article refers to the Internet Explorer plugin. Is your issue limited to the Plugin? If so, are you using the Plugin with Edge as explained on Run Microsoft Edge in IE-mode to be able to use Ql... - Qlik Community - 1764026.
If the issue is not limited to the Plugin then the article could might not be relevant for your issue and the Community would love to have further context from your scenario.
Cheers!
It does work in Chrome. The dashboard has macros, so it has to be used in Edge with the IE plugin. I have it setup to run in IE mode and the macros work fine.
I haven't had a chance to research why I'm getting the square when trying to access the accesspoint now due to other high priority issues, but if you have any ideas, I'm open.
Thanks,
Scott
Thanks for coming back @lgtsotrsdh !
Alright, so it works in Chrome and not in Edge using the IE Plugin. This is very useful information to have a much better picture of the issue. Now, the main concern is that when enabling that setting on the Setting.ini file of the user, the user gets the square on Edge.
Sure, if anyone has any idea 💡 I am sure it will be posted here.
Cheers!
I should clarify that I restored by backup copy of the ini file and the issue with the square persisted.
Thanks,
Scott
Thanks for the clarification. Hence,
This information would result very helpful for the Community in order to be able to help you further.
Cheers,
The dashboards worked fine in Edge with the plug-in until I started troubleshooting this issue.
I just tried to turn off the IE plug and access with Edge directly, but I no longer have the option to setup to open pages in IE. It just has the sections for Default browser and "Let Internet Explorer open sites in Microsoft Edge" Internet Explorer compatibility. It not longer has the "Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode" section at all.
I verified that at least one other person is getting the square in the accesspoint. I'm going to check with more people.
Thanks,
Scott
