Hi Everyone!
I've been having an issue recently regarding leasing a license from my server. I am able to connect but I can't open any documents even though I see the server:
If I add the document at the end of the URL (\example.qvw) it gives me this error:
I made sure the username I use to login has access to this documents (and all documents), and I can access these documents through the QlikView access point but not through the "open in server". I recently switched some drives around (moved all my documents from D:\ to C:\, but I don't see how this would affect this.
EDIT:
Okay, I got on a call with a Qlik Consultant and we were able to get somewhere. I moved a test document back to the D drive and it suddenly let me connect again. I moved a document to the C drive root and it worked as well. The problem is that it does not work as soon as I put it in a folder within in the C drive (In this case it's C:\D\etc\...) If it's C:\etc it's fine, if it's C:\D\etc it doesn't work. I believe it may be a windows permissions thing. I tried to give access to all users it it seemed to have taken but it still won't let me into the folder through the server lease.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
Joe

Hi,
You have no License lease from the server, try to just add the servername (qvp://servername) and then if you get Connected you will see a list of Applications.
If you are domain user please try to write domainname/username in alternate identity user id.
I have tried this. I am able to connect, but no applications show up. Just like before.
I tried. This did not work.
do you have named cal assigned to your user id?
Yes. That was the first thing I checked.
Have you tried with NT identity , are you using your ID for leasing license.
I have tried both with the same result. That blank Computer Icon with no Apps below. It connects successfully but I am unable to open any of the docs. I will be on a call with a Qlik consultant tomorrow... I'm really hoping she can figure it out. I will post with answer.
Thanks
If the QVS doesn't show any documents in the bottom list box, it either doesn't know you or the ID with which you try to gain access has no license assigned or Section access is blocking you from opening any document.
Most probably a wrong user ID.
Peter
PS To open a document like this, you don't need a license lease. You can also open documents "in server" with a simple Document CAL which cannot be leased.
