Open qvw with a different QlickV Release

Hi to all,
I've create a QV file with 8.50 Developer release and I gave that file to a collegue with the 8.01 Analayzer release but when he try to open file the follow error occured:

"Loading Faild"

Anybody knows I can fix this problem ?

You probably have to rebuild it using the older version.

QlikView seems to be forward compatible (9 can open 8.5 files).

There could be some feature in the 8.5 file that is not available in the earlier version. I'm not familiar enough with pre-8.5 QlikView to give you specifics.

Hi Andrea,

let me guess:

Your colleague works with QV Analyzer but without a licence registered on his/her machine.

So it is not allowed to open a local QV file.

Hi Rainer...are you a magician ? or you find a same situation

I'm not sure but I think that QV analyzer is installed on Server and on Client PC is just a link... I'll verify

how can i fix ...only installing QV on the client ?

Andrea,

if QV Analyzer is installed on a client machine and you provide a license, than the user can work with local QV files

(in former days we called it Analyzer +).

Without a license the user can only work online and open files from QV Server by using File => "Open in Server".

So you can:

- copy your application on QV Server

- if QV Analyzer is installed as a fat client on user´s machine: provide a license

That´s for QV 8.
