Opening QlikView file on the server with the client

Hi,

is it possible to use the local installed dekstop client and open a QlikView document which is stored on the server without losing funtionality like designing or reload of the document?

If I open the file with a QlikView Installation on the server, i can f.e. change properties etc. of the objects. I have the full functionality of the QlikView Desktop Installation.

If i open the same file with a Qlikview Installation on my local machine, i can´t do this. The properties of objects f.e. aren´t shown.

Is there a possiblity to have the same functionality like the server installation on my local machine?

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

Have you tried to use the exact same user as you have on the server?

Yes, I tried it with the same user.

If I open the Document by using "File" -> "Open" and then the network adress of the server and then go into the shared folder it works.

But if I tried to open the Documents like in your picture i haven´t all functionalitites.

Andy, QVW files can only be changed when being opened locally "File>Open".

When opening through "File>Open in Server" you're only visualizing the application through the server, you can't change any setting, script or objects.

The only thing you can do when opening through "Open in Server" is create collaboration objects (if you have an enterprise edition server license), bookmars and of course navigate the application, create selections, etc.
