great thank you.

The reason why I am thinking of doing this is because I can split the tabs for the analysis I am doing across to QV's from a performance point.  Is this ideal or should I just keep in one.

Yes Create a Button and add an action to that button External >> Open Qlikview Document

Then just add the name of the qvw if it's in the same path.

If not the same path add the Full Path like

C:\Users\Alan\Deposits.qvw

are you having perfomance issue?

If yes there is a lot of info in the community (here for example Re: Performance issue in application of over 300 million records)

In my opinion, splitting a document can be useful when the most part of the analysis can be solved by a smaller qlik doc (aggregate data) and you open the second (not aggregated) doc just for detailed analysis.

are you able to pass dimension filters which may have been applied in doc to another when opening that.
