Partial sums expression

I have tabbed show partial sums on my month dimension and get a total column.

Is it possible to change the expression i partial sums to not just accumulate the amount for each month.

I got an expression that count sold items

            Jan       feb     mar    total

item      100       200    300     600

ex. I want to the total to be the year average so I want to divide the 600/12

is this possible???

I don't think there is a way of changing the Partial sum expression.

You could try adding logic into the expression to say that if there is more than one month then it should divide by the number of months, but I think the partial sum sums up the months, instead of repeating the expression over the total number of columns.

How about adding in year as a dimension and including logic in the expression to say that if there is more than one month then it should divide by the number of months ?

Hi polschou

If your total field come from the Expression Total

Test this: In ChartProperties, select the expression tab, in the Total Mode Box open the list box and select Average.

The are some things that I can't do ... app always have data.

But the steps, wiht your data loaded, are:

1) Add a new chart object to your app

2) Select Straight Table type

3) Add one or more dimensions

4) Add one or more expressions, for each expression select on the Total Mode Box the kind of total you like.

Good luck.
