Period comparison

Hi Folks,

my Location is Germany and I am a relatively new QV - Developer.

My next Task: Make comparisons of Dates/Periods, i.e. Years, Month, Quarter, Week (Last Period, Last Years Period).

I am convinced that there are a lot of possibilities, however, I am still searching for BEST PRACTICE.

May I ask the community to give me some workable procedures? Thanks a lot!

Hi,

You can create variables like year=max(Year),previous year=max(year)-1 like this for month and week also

and then you can compare periods

did you tryed to search here?

There are different ways to do period comparisions and you should choose one which will be the best for application, you create.

For the begining you may try Tools/Time Chart Wizard.

Best practise would be to create a Master Calendar which flags Last Year, Last Years Period etc.

Fortunately, there are a lot of documents & forum post on that topic in this community.
