Pick/Match and Current Selections

Hello-

I'm using pick/match for a few fields.  My object shows the new value.  However, when these fields are selected, the current selections box shows the original value.  Is there a way I can fix this?  I'm not opposed to using a text box and creating a new current selections box.  Can this be done? Thanks in advance!

can you post here what you have in your pick-match statement.

I want the current selections box to show WFCC, instead the box shows East North Central.

=pick(match(Division,'East North Central','East South Central','Middle Atlantic','Mountain','Pacific'),'WFCC','WFHM','WFCS','WDDA','WFHE')

Hi Tina: check the attached qvw. The pick match is in the script...hope this works for you.

Can I do this outside of the load script though?

Hi there,

Pick() and Match() are function that can be used in the script as well as in any other expression editor (expressions in charts, text boxes, listboxes...).

Hope that helps.

Yes...outside the script - say in a chart - your statement should work as is. So when you drag in the Division into the dimensions, click the Edit button and paste your statement in there. It should work fine.

Miguel: is there a way I can use pick and match functions..maybe the same statement as above - in a list box. I always felt I could not do so....

thanks!

Hi,

Yes! create a new object, listbox, and instead of a field, select from the drop down "<Expression>" (is at the bottom of the list of fields). Precede the expression with the "=" sign and that's it!
