I hope there is a simple answer for this. I would like to display Pop up messages for a striaght table when a user hovers over a specific column. This Pop up message would contain information about the data in the column and how it is used.
Thanks in Advance,
Dan
Hi Dan
As far as I am aware there is no way to put pop-up text against a single column in a table, the only help text you can add is to describe the whole table (this is in the Help Text box in the caption tab).
Thanks,
That is my understanding as well. I have a client who would like to add this feature if possible so I thought it was worth investigating.
See attached example of some options from from Rob Wunderlich's QlikView cookbook:
I will take a look.
Thanks
Hello,
If you add an expression like
='info: '&chr(10)&chr(10)&[Explanation]
and size the column to show only the "info:" part, when user hovers over that column, it will simply pop up the rest of the text (since it is the rest of the text that does not fit to the column).

This solution is very functional. Thanks
With QV11, you can also use the Dimension or Expression "Comment" field to add column hover popup text to straight tables.

Looking for Field hover popup (whether it be text or image)...as we have been able to do in SSRS for many years...Ex. put part number in a column and then hover the description and/or an image. Hopefully Qlik sees this as a missing f(x) that is available in other pieces of software.
