I have a problem trying to add a QlikView object to any Microsoft application. I'm running Vista Ultimate 64Bit, Office 2007 SP2. I have QV version 9.0.7119.4 and the OCX component is the same version and is registered. When I drag an object from a QlikView document to PowerPoint I receive an error "PowerPoint found an error that it can't correct". From all I have read this should be a relatively simple process???????????????
The OCX does work for PowerPoint. Drag the QV object to the PowerPoint page and then start Slide Show, it should work correctly. I did a quick test today after trading e-mails with support and this solved my problem.
Hi,
I also faced the same problem ....checked with Qliktech support ...reply pasted here.. we need to wati till September ..
===========================================
Description:
I tried to select a chart and list box from a qv sheet (copy) and paste the same to a ppt document. Error enclosed.
The training manual under qlikcommunity describes this is possible with dynamic updates within powerpoint.
Pl advise.
Resolution:
Do you use IE Plugin and QV 9.0?
This is a known bug with the GA release of QV9 and should be fixed for SR1 which is due in early september.
There are reports of the issue being solved after manually registering the QlikOcx.ocx but it doesn't seem to work in every case but is worth trying out as a work around.
Best regards,
Tapas
I manually registered the OCX and still have the issue. Thanks for the response I guess I need to be patient and wait for SR1. I appreciate your help!
Does the drag & drop feature work for you after installing SR1?
Best regards
Stefan
Hi Stefan,
With SR1 drag & drop to MS-Excel works fine . Does not work with Powerpoint . Besides, if you do not have qv installed locally it does not work .
We have users connecting to qv server via citrix . They can perform this drag and drop operation on the server . But if they move the excel file to their local computer (where qv is not installed) the OCX features fails .
Can somebody guide me .
Thanks.
Best regards,
Tapas
Hi Tapas,
thanks for your answer. yes I know, it works with Excel (yes I have installed the plugin locally), but it does not work with Powerpoint!?
Best regards
Stefan

I have tried registering the ocx and nothing is working. I still get the error when trying to drag and drop to PowerPoint. Any suggestions?
Folks,
I think I found the "remedy" - at least, it worked for me:
1. Upgrade your QlikView 9.00 to the latest SR2 (just got published a while ago).
2. Prior to Dragging and Dropping, try "Copy Object" in QlikView and "Paste" in PPT. In my case, after one "copy-paste", the drag-and-drop started working...
I guess, something good happens somewhere deep inside, when you Copy and Paste...
enjoy!
Hi, I did the same and the copying part is working fine, my problem would be that I don't know how to show the updates in QV in the ppt objects.
Would anybody now if it is possible to reload info in QV and show the new charts authomatically in ppt?
Thank you!
