Problems Opening an Existing QVW

Hi,

I was working on a QVW when my computer crashed. Depending on how I attempt to open the file, I get a different result:

- From within an explorer window, double click & receive a message "File cannot be found"

- From within QlikView, File/Open & application hangs

I've worked on this all week, so I'm hoping it isn't lost forever. Is there any way to recover the QVW, or will I need to start from scratch? Of course, this is something that has an urgent timeline.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Try contacting QT Support and send them the file. WHat I know that sometime they can reapir the QV files and give you something back.

And not that it helps you this time, but I've been saved on a couple of occasions by keeping backup copies. User Preferences -> Save -> Use Backup.

Hi John,

I know that it's a long time since you made this reply, but an additional question for it.

Do you know if it is possible to choose an alternative folder for keeping these backups, than the one where the current document i located?

Martin
