Dear Team -
A bit urgent.
note: QV is installed in win 2016 with 2 node cluster license.
i wanted to know what are the manually files i need to change while switching from production to DR (disaster recovery). I have not publisher license, and task are run on EDX. There are 30 edx task currently in Production and when i switch to DR, how do i get these 30 edx task configured in DR server.
Any XML files need to b e changed after switch to DR. IF yes, will this be manually activity.
What if, the server name is not renamed after switch to DR.
IS there any checklist available I need handy.
Thank you!
Sean.
Sean, really difficult to answer this one given there are a lot of things in play and without knowing all the underlying architecture info etc., that may lead to a disaster, pardon the pun! On this one, I would likely recommend you get up with your account team to discuss things to be sure you have everything covered correctly.
The one thing I can say is if the DR had the same server names etc., you could simply copy the latest QVPR over to the DR environment and everything should be good to go. Again, the other option would likely be DNS alias names on things, and you use those in the configuration such that the names to do not change, just the IP routing, which the network team would do via the DNS records... There are some things in the QVPR that are coded to the actual server names though, so you would have to change those manually to the Alias etc. Again, it would be advisable to engage services on this one to be sure you get it right for your needs, as these can be tricky to get properly sorted.
Regards,
Brett
