QMC - Source Document Tab

In the QMC and under the Source document tab,

We have meta data attributes with a name and value. I am not able to understand what is the use of that from the manual. Can somebody explain that with a real time example?

Thanks

Balraj,

This is not what I am looking for. I am looking for,

In the QMC under User Document tab and under Document Information we have

Attributes

Meta data attributes can be created and assigned to a document. These attributes are arbitrary pairs of name and value. They are not saved in the document, but in the meta data of the QlikView Server, utilizing the QlikView Server Document Metadata Service (DMS) facility. A third-party application can read and extract the attributes from the database, using theqvpx protocol. The attributes are presented on the QlikView AccessPoint, in which they are used to help finding the correct document. To create an attribute and assigned value entry, to be stored in the meta file, click on the Add icon, , to the right in the pane, and configure the following fields:

Name

To configure a meta data attribute name, enter a descriptive name in this text box.

Value

To assign a value to the meta attribute name in the Name field, enter the value in this text box.

What is the use of this?

For example, Attributes can be used for filtering on the Access Point page, in the Attributes dropdown.
