Hi
Is it possible to schedule a windows task through QMC..If it so, pls explain.
Thanks
John
Hi John,
You can schedule an external task, this will be either calling a batch or an exe file.
This way you can accomplish it.
thanks,

No,it's not possible..u can schedule only qlikview apps!
But I read few things that where we can schedule this by writing some script in Qlikview app, where we are triggering through Qlikview app...ofcourse when we schedule qlikview app through QMC..this will trigger Windows task....May be this information is wrong shiva but ....this what I came to know through some investigation
QLIK Experts please help
Hi John,
What are you actually trying to achieve?
Andy
wht i understand,ur trying to say by writing some windows script's through qv app and scheduled it'll run?if this it what ur thrying to schedule, answers is YES ,because this is again qv application..wht ever windows script u written inside qv.
but what I understood based on ur first post, can we schedule windows task(example.. abc.bat file or some windows patch updates daily basis ) through QEMC!,For this I said,NO.
no issue,this is how I''m learning...qlik
Sorry for the confusion,....I'm putting it in detail here... I have a windows .bat file, I want this to get run every 12 hrs. Can this be scheduled in qlikview QMC... by creating a qlikview app where this qlikview app should trigger this .bat file every 12 hrs...
thnx
John
you can use External Action: Launch
you probably have a batch file to run an MS Access file to prep your data before you Load in Qlikview.
Of course we all know, you could have done it in Task Scheduler, but you probably want to perform this in QMC so you can chain this task to run your QV file after batch file is performed.
Thnx Jonathan, could u pls explain this in bit detail..
