QV Desktop Mail Setting-Gmail

Hi Communities,

I'm trying to setup the mail alert via QV desktop edition,

but it shows could not connect to server.

Wondering if the mail function is available for desktop edition or there's wrong setting in Mail Tab as attached.

Looking for your advice.

Hi Kate,

I think from QV Desktop it's not possible to send email directly.

However You can look on below link for getting the idea (it's written by stevedark ).

Please go through the set of documents, hope it will help. It seems to be an issue with your SMTP configuartion.

May be this:

Try to use Yahoo or any other mail as gmail  uses SSL encryption and qlikview not support to it, so you can user other mail where encryption not required. or use toll stunnel , attached file(got from community only)

I've tried to use hotmail or yahoo mail, but still not working.

The attached file is using QV server edition, is the mail alert function only workable on Server Edition?
