QV Migration from QV11 to QV 12

Hi,

We are planning migrate QV11 to QV12.

What are the precautions we need to take before upgrading to QV12?

Can someone share step by step procedure to upgrade QV11 to QV12?

Please do the needful.

Its pretty straightforward

1. Backup your apps
2. Backup your c:\programdata\qliktech folder
3. Install the new version
4. Test

Hi Khal,

Before doing QV Server upgrading Precautions to take

1. Qlikview latest version download from Qlikview community(us-b.demo.qlik.com/download
2. Take backup of Qlkitech folder from server -Progarm Data and keep it into another folder.
3. stop all qlikview services before installation
4. Install new Qlikview server upgrade
5. Restart server
6. go to qmc and starts all tasks one by one

I have some doubts.

Will all applications migrate to QV12 which we have developed in QV11?

Do i need to uninstall QV11 before upgrading?

No ,it is not required to uninstall QV 11 version.

The installer will detect whether an existing version of QlikView 11 is on the computer and will uninstall to proceed with QlikView 12. You will see the prompts while running the installer program.
