QV10 - Cross Release Compatability

Hi...

Just downloaded QlikView 10 and want to install on my PC.

Noticed in the release notes that "There are no problems using QlikView Desktop 10 together with QlikView Desktop 9 in parallel on the same computer".

Installed QlikView 10 (with QlikView 9 still installed) but it loads as personal edition - QlikView 9 is a fully licensed product.

We have to paste out LEF details in because of issues with our firewall conttacting QlikView so did this on 10 and it said that the license was valid.

Closed QlikView 10 and reopened and it is asking for license details again....!

Anyone any ideas?

Regards

Paul

Apologies for the delay in coming back to you Blaze - been hectic here...

I did manage to get this resolved...should have posted it...

I uninstalled QlikView, removed the QlikView folder in program files then rebooted the PC.

I was then able to install QlikView 10 without a problem.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Paul

Hi Paul

I am having exactly the same issue. Did you manage to solve it? I appealed to support for their help and they responded with this:

Please do the following….

· Open QlikView.

· Settings; User Preferences; License and select Clear License Information.

· Close QlikView

· Open QlikView

· File ; Open in Server

· Enter thet name of your QV Server as the host and connect to it

· Open any of the documents that you see there and then close it.

· Close QlikView and reopen and you should have a leased license.

This license is valid for 30 days. Every time you then open QlikView while connected to the server you will get it resxtended for 30days.

I haven't tried it yet as I need to get the server details from a college.

Regards,
