QVD Migration from Oracle version 12.1.x to Oracle Version 12.2.x

Hi ,

As a part of the project, I would need to migrate existing QVDs from one oracle version to an upgraded oracle version. 

The transformation layer and the UI layer is expected to remain the same. The reports will still be the same but instead of pointing to the older version, now they will be pointing to the newer Oracle version. 

The task is to only migrate the QVDs . I am very new to Qlik .

Can you please give a process outline , challenges and tasks that will be required to do this migration.

Hi,

To my mind, newer Oracle version doesn't changes anything because SQL which generate your QVD files will not change.

Thanks for the reply. But could you please explain a bit more.. as to what tasks would be required to achieve the same?

Do I have to generate the QVDs using the new Oracle connection? If so , then what are the best practices followed in such a scenario to create and deploy the same up to Production?

Yes, check your new Oracle connection and launch the QV relaod for generate QVD files.
