Hi Community,,
As we train users at the branches to connect to data we would like the data to be filtered by the branch the user is connected to. For instance if 'MS David' is at Branch 14, we would like when he connects to a QVD he will only get Branch 14 data. Is there a way to create a security rules to filter the data? We are trying to avoid creating QVD’s for each branch...
Please suggest/Help on ideal strategy to handle this situation.

Please take a look at section access which will handle this...
Section Access is only the option, but when the business user loads QVD with entire data set then he has to able to load particular data that he belongs to corresponding branch number that he persists.
Usually the data is loaded or refreshed by the admin and section access is applied after that. You are saying that the business user will load the dashboard, then the only way is to split up the QVD file. Let's see if anyone has a better solution.
If i create multiple qvds for each branch, is there a way that the User can able to access the qvd with the data that he belongs to and denies the access to all other qvds something like that..?? (Security at qvd level)
The best option is Section Access. For what ever reason if you don't want to use that option then the only option I can see is as below:
Say if you have three branch codes and each of that branch code user has his/her own network folder, then you can place the .qvd file in that particular folder and then can reload any time. (Assuming every one has access to a particular network folder). Hope this helps..
Post some sample data please.
