Hi,
I'm trying to get a external link to my Qlik Sense Server going. As far as I've figured it out it seems like the link is https://<ip>/qmc
First off, is the above correct?
Secondly, I've been able to get this to work when I try to access it from within the server, but it gives me a security warning saying it is not secure. When I try to access it from outside the server it doesn't connect at all. I assume there are some security settings I need to change?
Thanks,
Conrad
Conrad - can you try changing the port from 80 to something else (like 90?) .
Qlik Sense uses websockets which is on the new side. I'm told that not all devices may support this yet. I know it sounds weird but it has worked in 1 or 2 cases. after changing it you'll need to use:
http://<server>:90/hub (where <server> is the server name or IP that you added to the whitelist).
ensure the server reference ( IP in this case) is added to the proxy white list.
QMC
Proxies
Edit the central proxy
scroll down... under 'websocket origin white list' , click 'add value' and type in the IP or server name of fully qualifed server name (whatever you use in the URL)
hit apply
give it a minute or two and then retest the link from the external machine
Hi Jonathan,
I don't have a websocket option. Please see attached screenshots.
Kind regards,
Conrad
Sorry. I think things changed around in 1.1. Please see correction below
QMC
Virtual Proxies
Edit the central proxy
Click all the tags on the right side to be able to view all properties
scroll down... under 'websocket origin white list' , click 'add value' and type in the IP or server name of fully qualifed server name (whatever you use in the URL)
hit apply
Thanks. I kindof got it sorted. I had to add the relevant ports to allow it through the firewall. However, I now need to change from https to http as the certificate is not signed and because of that I can't connect from a Safari browser or iOS device. I've set the proxy to allow http but I just get a 404 not found message when trying to assess the access point. Any ideas? I've added the IP, host name, fully qualified IP and accessing PC name to the whitelist, but it still doesn't work.
Just to take a step back , were you able to get in from other desktops / pcs using chrome/IE etc.. ? (IE needs to be v10).
Also , what version of iOS do you have for your apple device ?
Has been tested on multiple devices and computers. The apple mobile devices is the latest version. Not sure which one this is. (My boss's devices) The Mac is Yosemite.

That worked! Thank you so much!
