Hi Qlikers,
I am facing an issue with a cyclic group option in an application in access point on windows 10 devices. The issue is that, the cyclic dimension has around a 100 fields in it for the users to have a report of their choice. Users used to click on the arrow beside the cyclic dimension in the straight table and navigate to the required field by hovering over the up/down arrow symbol, which was working perfectly until they were on windows 7. Now, that they upgraded the OS to windows 10 the functionality does not seem to be working. Nothing seem to work, not hovering, clicking. Only thing what the users can do is select a field and open the list again to find some more fields.
Users finding it difficult navigating to the fields to extract reports.
Anyone faced the issue and got it resolved?
Let me know if any other details are required.
Hi Brett,
Firstly thank you for providing the insight on the possible fixes for the issue.
I would like to let you know that we have submitted a case with Qlik from our organization and received information stating that it is a bug and that they are checking a solution for the issue. After two months of followup, we received an update stating that a patch with the fix cannot be provided for the current version as it is working fine in the later versions (QlikView 12.30). We were asked to upgrade to the newer version to resolve the issue.
This issue was for all the users whose PC got upgraded to windows 10 on Internet explorer browser. We do not suggest users using any of the other browser as certain functionalities do not work on AJAX versions. For instance, the circular dimensions (Chrome : IE:
) on straight table(the current issue
where the arrows don't scroll through the dimensions up/down) cannot be scrolled down and selected, instead had to go one by one. This is going to be a problem if the number of dimensions are more.
Since this is a potential defect, I would recommend opening a support case with us in order for us to confirm the defect. Please note support for the 12.10 track is ending per the following post, so you may also want to consider testing things in a newer release at this point as well...
I cannot say whether or not R&D would consider fixing the issue or not, but if you want us to find out, please submit a support case with a sample app we can use to replicate the issue in one of our environments.
That all being said, one thing to be sure you try is to have the users clear their web browser cache to be sure that is not causing the issue. You also did not mention which web browser this was occurring in either, be sure to try in the latest releases of Chrome, Edge, FireFox etc. to be sure it is not related to the browser too.
The other thing to keep in mind is Ajax client does only return x number of rows initially etc., so if the users are seeing some of values but not all, then this is likely working as expected, but as they scroll down, the list should populate the remaining values in blocks. I cannot recall the default setting on the number of rows off the top of my head here, but this is potentially another thing, and I believe there is a server-side setting to adjust that...
Will leave it up to you, but I would say your best course of action is to submit this to us in Support being sure to attach an example app with the issue, so we can test to see if we can replicate etc., then we can proceed from there. Sorry I do not have anything better, but hopefully this gives you something to move things forward.
Regards,
Brett
