I'm kind of new to the world of Qlikview and would like to prepare for QlikView Developer Certification exam.

Please suggest any resources.

Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

"QlikTech will get the benefits, if there are more qlikview professionals(Consultant) in the market."

I'd like to point out that authors of Qlikview books are not Qliktech employees and they are not compensated or sponsored by Qliktech. They are independent authors and consultants. Their compensation for the very significant time and effort it takes to write these books comes solely from book sales.

I can only agree with the posts of Rob and Barry. In fact I bought both books(and even a second version of "QV11 for Developers" for my kindle), despite I'm aware of the possibilities to get "free" ebooks. And why that? Because they are really worth the money and its just fair to compensate the authors for their great work and efforts.

Further I think the amount of money someone has to pay(invest), is not a matter of "being able", it's normally a matter of "being willing to". Its not like spending time in a holiday park, its much more an investment for your future. Because  finally the book(s) should enable you to gain knowledge in the first place and probably earning a "bit" more money in the future.

And your argumentation with Qliktech shows only that you're not aware of the relationships, nothing more.

If you want to be generous, buy the book and make a gift...

Do you like to work just for fun, instead for money?

Hi,

I've recently completed Qlikview Developer version 11 certification and completed successfully with good score.

All the pointers discussed in this thread were usefull. Thanks for the community and community members, it helps me to grow a lot in my career.

Thanks Khan for your pointers and sharing your experience here.

Regards.

Congratulations Siva,

What was your preparation ? What did you do to complete successfully with a good score ?

When did you know you were ready for the exam ?

I am also preparing the certification. I hope to go by the end of month. But I fear that I will not have such a good score. When I see all the questions on the forum that I am not able at all to answer (or sometimes to understand !!), I am not sure to be ready.

By then, I am doing:

- re reading QlikView 11 for developers

- reading all posts by Henric Cronström  (I do not understand everything although they are wery well explained but it is quite OK)

- reading White papers, Technical briefs and Best practices that I find in the community

- practicing a little

Should I do something else for preparation ?

Dear Siva,

Congratulations for the certification...

What is the minimum score you need to achieve to get passing certification?

Can you share 4-5 questions with/without answers you have got in exam?

I appeared for the exam here in Singapore. Experience is same as mentioned above by vegar.lie.arntsen and Khan. There were 70 questions,2hrs duration. More practical experience is required to clear the exam.

Manish,

Cant share the questions due to NDA. Couldn't recall either. .  You can find the free practice questions here to get an idea.

Siva,

Thank you for NOT sharing certification exam questions and reminding others that doing so is a violation of the NDA signed for the exam.

Lots of questions here about exam preparation resources...I recommend visiting the Certification web pages on qlik.com. Select Services, then Training, then Certification.

Good luck!

Hi,

I have read somewhere in the forums that if we pass QV Developer exam, we will be awarded with both Designer and Developer certifications, seems strange to me. Is this true or do we need to take both the exams. Please clarify.

Thanks,

It is true. When you pass the Developer exam you'll be granted both Designer and Developer cert. If you take the Designer exam you'll only get the Designer cert.

I assume that Qlik want to make sure that a QlikView developer develop datamodels that are designed to meet front end needs for making good applications. To do that you need a basic knowledge of design.

For details about the developer exam: QlikView 11 Developer Certification | QlikView.
