I'm kind of new to the world of Qlikview and would like to prepare for QlikView Developer Certification exam.

Please suggest any resources.

Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hi Barry,

I have to ask this since we do not have such resources here in our country yet to go for a certification.

So if we follow your book, do you think that it will give us knowledge to a level which is similar for anyone who possess certification ?

Great discussion here about preparing for QlikView 11 Certification Exams. Here are my recommended steps for preparation:

Visit the Certification web pages on qlik.com or the Qlik Partner Portal and find details on each certification.

1. Gain the experience listed under Exam Prerequisites
2. Familiarize yourself with the Recommended Preparation Resources; attend training and get hands-on experience with QlikView
3. Study the Exam Domain Areas - these are the topics on the exam, broken into sections and objectives
4. Take the FREE Designer and Developer Practice Questions
   
   NOTE: Practice questions for System Administrator Certification Exam are not available at this time.

I am planning to take the exam next week and IsrarKhan has me thinking whether or not I need to review the reference manual/memorize object properties. In part, I had this reaction because at first glance, the question about the gauge chart seems difficult --> something I'd need to memorize... But if you've ever created a gauge chart, or even just though about what it does, the answer is very clear.

Long story short - I am fairly convinced that practical knowledge and critical thinking will trump a meticulous pouring over the reference manual. There are a bunch of books offered by packtpub that have helped me quite a bit. I'll report more after I take the exam.

I am newbie on QlikView started about 6 months ago and I am reading the Qlikview Developer book,  I wanted to attempt to do the certification but Im worried I might not crack it since I don't have experience.

Can you kindly tell me if the exam is better if u have experience or not.

If you have started 6 months ago and have been going thru books, websites and this community forum library you should have a quite good understanding what Qlikview is about.

This does not mean you can pass the Cert but if feel confident with most of the topics Vegar posted you can give a go.

Deli - Hands-on experience with QlikView is recommended to pass the certification exams. You need to understand and work with the product. I would not recommend taking the exam after just reading about QlikView. Please visit the QlikView 11 Developer Certification web page and use the Exam Domain Areas as a guide.

Play with the product and experiment with topics with which you are not familiar.
