Hello, we recently started using QlikView and jump to purchase the QlikView Server to allow our users to stay up to date on the go. However now I find the I am not able to share more than one document wiht each of my users. I don't understand why I will only be able to share one document or report with each of my users. how can I share multiple reports?
Hey Hugo,
What kinda license where the users given? If they have named CAL they can open any doc they have access to.If document CAL then only that particular document.
Thanks
AJ
Hello not so sure because we got the licenses through a third party. All I know for sure is that I have developers license and I have no restrictions but my users do and I am wondering what can I do to be able to share multiple documents with them.

If you go to QEMC > System > License > Qlikview server > Assigned CALs (on the right)
Here you can see who all have Named CALs(you must be having a Named CAL).
If your users have only Doc Cals, then you have to assign multiple doc cals for accessing multiple docs.
It can be assigned over here:
QEMC > Documents > User Documents > Select the App >Document CALs (on right) > the assign it
Repeat for all the apps for a particular user that he needs access to.
Usually power users will have Named cals. If you have 20 apps one named cal will do it. If you use doc cal you will need 20 of them.
Alternatively you can also look into Session Cals.
Thanks
AJ
Hi,
You need to have Named CALs in order to see any application (QVW) in your server. So you need to have access to this: Management console > System > Licenses > General:
Here you'll see how many Named CALs you have available and who have them:
Also, in case you have Document CALs, you can check that info here:
Management console > Documents > User Documents (If you don't have publisher, you'll see just 1 tab instead of Source and user documents)
These assigned cals, will be able to open just the document they're assigned to
regards
What error message are you seeing when users try and access documents other than the one they are able to see - or do the other documents simply not appear on Access Point?
