QlikView limitations - for which projects QV is (not) well-chosen solution

Hi all,

For which projects QV is well-chosen solution and for which is not?

When is it better to choose other competing solutions like Cognos, Hana ?

QlikView is advertised as a solution which don't need a data warehouse. What are cons and pros of that?

It will be depend on various factors which tool fits better in which situations. None tool is isolated in a enterprise environment. It needs to be embedded within the (existing) it-infrastructure and it will be more a strategic decision whether a company tried to consolidate their infrastructure to a few systems or to use more specialized tools.

The strengths from qlikview are the associative search-engine, the speed to load data and analyse them and the speed to develop solutions which influence the overall costs.
