Qlikview OCX component

Hi,

I am planning to use Qlikview OCX component to integrate my Qlikview application with one desktop based application developed in VB. I would like to know following:

1) How successful is such kind of implementation?

2) Do we need to install Qlikview OCX component on every client machine who will be accessing the VB application? If yes, do they need any kind of Qlikview license to see the Qlikview application which is integrated with VB application?

I am still in implementation stage only. I am not sure how successful it is. As per me I have posted many posts but did not get any much reply. So I feel that very partners deploying through this.

No you don't need to install the OCX component. You just need to register the QlikOCX.OCX in all your clients system using "Regsvr32". Hope you must be know how to do that. You need to get the OCX license from your sales guy to open the QV document which is integrated with your VB application. For testing purpose you can use the client license that you have. Which will allows you to open the document in client. All that your need to do is enter the license in your VB source and run the project in the client you are ready to open the document. But If you compile and make it as a .exe and tries client sytem it is not getting opened and it not asking for the license also. But if you run the source from the VB environment it asks for the license. Don't know the reason why.

I think you have posted this long back. Are still working on this? Please share/update your experience on this if you have done it.

hi there, I just want to ask if where I can freely get the qlikview ocx?

you can get it from download section but you can install it on QVS so you required QVS License.

and you can download if and only if you belongs to customer or Partner.
