Qlikview desktop not leasing a license after upgrading to 9 SR2.
Before the leaseing of licenses worked fine, now we´ve upgraded to 9 SR2 and nobody seems to get a leased license anymore. Stuck in "Qlikview Personal Edition". We can still open documents with "open in server" but not open for editing.
Has anyone ran into this/is there some simple configuration we might be missing?

Make sure your proxy server isnt blocking the license server ( IE > tools> internet options > connections tab > lan settings> untick proxy )
Open Qlikview , User Properties > license tab > click change button .

There is no proxy server configured. Our server can contact the Qlikview license server fine, its just that the Desktop client doesn't lease a license even after opening documents with "open in server".

We're having the same problem. Have you contacted support?

I´m in contact with someone from Qliktech, but I don't think we have an official support contact, not yet anyway. I suspect this coulde be because we've gone through a few versions of QV server and might need a complete uninstall + reinstall . I don't want to do that unless I´m sure there are no other options.

Im still runnig the SR2 Beta and it seems to be getting a leased license ok, but it is a beta ..
Support insists I must do a full reinstall to move from the Beta. ( a Major Pain)
not sure if I want to do it at all now ...

Our problem ended up being license related, a few clicks of "update license from server" and apply license solved the issue.

wdbaz, where did you find this "update license from server" button? Which version of QlikView server are you running?
Make sure that the QlikView Server allows for borrowed/leased cals (it's a setting in the mangement console). Also, leased licenses doesn't work if you log on to the server anonymous. The server must also have allocated user cals for any user who wants a leased license.

Our problem turned out to be that we were leasing from a test server. This was supported, although not intentionally, in v9 releases prior to SR2.

Hi,
i had the same problem even if on QV11, all users had the license lease, but only one not.
At the end seems that the solution was:
1. Open QlikView Desktop
2. click user preferences and clear license information under license tab and restart Qlikview
3. now open in server, i opened with custom user but i entered with the same user of windows logon.
4. open a document on server and after this that user shoudl have the lease.
I hope this help.
