Dear All,
When I create table and plot then it is visible in the Qlikview environment.
The table looks fine, but is there a possibility to put this tabel in a web environment?
With QlikWEB? Or do we need QV on server?
Reason is that I can modify the cells with e.g. different text colour and i can add Javascript to make enable popup.
For instance, I press on Thumb symbol and a popup will appear and I then can see more data behind the thumb.
if yes, what do I need?
Thanks and best regards,
Cornelis.
Hi Cornelis,
You should use the QlikView Server. It distribute qlikview app's webbased. a pop-up is a standard functionality and linking to detail list of the data could be fixed easy by actions.
But if you only want to modify the cells, differ in text color and getting pop-up, this could all be done in the local version aswell?
btw i would never recommend a purly local client based enviorment. This will limit user distribution and maintenance allot!
Dear Jelco,
Thank you for your prompt answer.
Yes, it must be done locally. For instance:
I download a table from the web. It contains a column 'Active ingredients(s)' You will see a text 'Mixture' . When clicking on the text Mixture, a pop-up will appear and you will see the content of active ingredient (List of Active Ingredients) in details. The pop-up is a result of re-calculculation, i.e. click on Mixture, a process will be submitted on the server and then data will be sent to the user resulting into this pop-up.
Hi Cornelis,
Could you reprase your question? I don't understand what you want to achieve.
Yes you can do this with QlikView simply enough, based on actions like Jelco said. I use pop-ups in many QlikView applications, usually acheived through text boxes with conditional shows. You don't need to use javascript to achieve this.
Distribute your document on a QV Server, it will make things a lot easier for you.
Hi Jelco,
The question is whether QV server version is able to generate html web pages that will be loaded on the pc from the user. This means that I then have a lot of freedom to make several kind of web output using QV.
The example above shows a non-standard table (see columns "Active ingredients(s)", "Surfactant 1 (assay)") and it contains also a hyperlink (click on cell 'Mixrure') and a pop-up will appear "List of active Ingredients".
With other words: is QV able to generate web pages?
Best regards,
Cornelis
Thanks for it, that is clear.
Ok Cornelis,
This is indeed pretty easy to do with QV Server. The distribution to users is always webbased and based on HTML5/AJAX technology.
The pop-ups can be done with conditional shows like kourosh described. you can show or hide an conditional showed textbox objects on that textbox using variables. You have to use different layers to let it pop-up on top of other objects.
So:
1:QV server is needed for webbased distribution to users
2:Use conditional show triggerd by variable
3:Use different object layers to let it pop-up on top of other objects
I hope this answers your question. If you need any more help, feel free to upload your .qvw and i will help you setting up the last 2 points.
greets,
Jelco
Hi Jelco,
Thank you for your message.
That is a good sign!
Unfortunately, I have not QV server to test, that rather depends on the organisation whether we will order.
Best regards,
